We have a few remaining spots available for Carnegie Science Center's "Science in the Summer" program...don't miss out! This year's topic is all about chemistry with lots of hands-on experiments! Dates are August 8-11 OR August 22-25 (children in grades 2-3; 9:30-10:30 and children in grades 4-6; 11:00-noon). Please phone the library's children's department at 412-486-0211 x116!

If your kids love science, you will want to take advantage of this free opportunity offered by the Carnegie Science Center!

Ballpark Franks!

On Thursday, June 23 at 12:15 pm, "batter up" to the new Ballpark Mysteries series by David Kelly! Each child will be given a copy of Book #1, The Pinstripe Ghost, as we read the first 2 chapters together, then they can finish up the book at home (all while counting time toward summer reading hours!). In addition, we will learn some cool things about Fenway Park, play a game or two and...the best part...eat hot dogs and chips, so come hungry! (Please notify us of any food allergies). Dad Rocks and Wonder Pugs!!

It's almost here!! Summer reading 2011 at the Shaler North Hills Library! We are busily preparing for our biggest and best summer reading program ever! Registration for Summer Reading Club begins on Wednesday, June 1! ALL AGES are eligible to register!

Water Babies (birth through 3 years)
Little Explorers (those not reading independently)
World Travelers (those reading independently through 6th grade)
Teens (7th grade and up)

Our program runs through September 3, so all you have to do is READ and earn BOOK BUCKS to spend in our PRIZE store!!
